Privacy Policy
PixelGo | Last updated: March 26, 2026
Core Promise: PixelGo is a local-first exploration game. Your exploration data is stored on your device by default. We do not collect or upload your personal location tracks to our servers.
1. What We Access
With your permission, PixelGo accesses the following:
- Location — Used to light up map tiles as you walk. Location data is processed locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.
- Photo Library (optional) — Only when you use the "Historical Footprint Import" feature. We read only the geographic location and timestamp metadata. Photo content is never read or uploaded.
2. Data Storage
- Local Storage — Exploration data (tiles, ZONEs, achievements) is stored on your device by default.
- iCloud (optional) — If you enable iCloud sync, data is encrypted and synced via Apple's iCloud service. We cannot access your iCloud data.
- CloudKit Public Database — Leaderboard scores and landmark discovery counts are stored in Apple's CloudKit public database. Other users can see your leaderboard nickname and scores.
3. Game Center
If you're signed into Game Center, PixelGo submits your weekly leaderboard scores and achievement progress. This data is managed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
4. Third-Party Services
PixelGo does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. No Firebase, Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, or any other third-party data collection tools are included.
5. Data Deletion
You can reset all local exploration data at any time via Settings > "Reset Territory". Uninstalling the app removes all local data. To delete CloudKit leaderboard data, please contact us.
6. Children's Privacy
PixelGo is not designed for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Policy Changes
If we modify this privacy policy, we will update this page with the new date. Significant changes will be communicated via in-app notification.
